From the dance festival behemoths you've always wanted to go to – Creamfields, EDC UK, SW4, We Are FSTVL – to a brand new weekend event up in the Highlands of Scotland, here are 10 unmissable UK festivals for anyone of a house, techno, EDM, dubstep, drum & bass, garage, deep-house, tech-house or minimal persuasion.

#10 Groove Loch Ness

Headliners (2015): Groove Armada, 2manydjs, Tensnake

Emerging in place of the guitar-focused RockNess, Groove Loch Ness made its debut last year with a much-anticipated lineup and, of course, a breathtaking natural backdrop. This could be the start of something big…

#9 MADE Birmingham

Headliners (2015): MK, Wilkinson, Julio Bashmore

Demand for tickets to MADE Birmingham is so high that 2015's event expanded into two days. The aim is to discover and showcase the next big thing while also bringing established favourites to a proper, authentic warehouse venue.

#8 The Social Festival

Headliners (2015): Richie Hawtin, Seth Troxler, Monika Kruse

The Social Festival's late-summer vibe combines techno and house with a quintessential slice of classic English countryside. Nic Fanciulli's Saved Records takes a lead in lineup curation, resulting in an unusually intimate stage for some impressively high-profile artists.

#7 Cocoon In The Park

Headliners (2015): Sven Väth, Ricardo Villalobos, Dixon

The great name of Cocoon has been visiting Leeds' Temple Newsam (former host of V Festival and then Leeds Festival) for seven years now, with a generous genre-palette representing more than just the brand's trance roots. 'Ibiza in Yorkshire' doesn't quite do it, but it sounds catchy enough…

#6 Eastern Electrics

Headliners (2015): DJ EZ, Jamie Jones, Lil Louis

Underground house and bass parties don't get better than Eastern Electrics' showpiece annual event at Hatfield House. Scattered with creative features like pillow-fighting and an all-new woodland rave area, it's a sure bet if more mainstream dance music isn't your thing.

#5 High Definition Festival

Headliners (2015): Luciano, Livio & Roby, Kerri Chandler

2015 heralded a change of location for HD Festival, as well as some pretty high-scale fifth birthday celebrations. But it came as a blow not just to HD itself but to the UK's music scene in general, when the festival was forced to cancel due to problems with its venue, Hop Farm. Let's hope it's not the end for High Definition.
