Rock the Boat Festival

The Tyne Valley Oyster Festival has been the home coming of this small community since its humble start in 1964. The Tyne Valley Oyster Festival's main agenda is reuniting community members for the most memorable weekend of the summer, as well as supporting local charities, especially the Tyne Valley Sports Center. The festival's headlining event is the Canadian Oyster Shucking Championship where shuckers from around Canada compete for the title of Canadian Oyster Shucking Champion.

2014 marks the 50th anniversary of the Tyne Valley Oyster Festival, and the start of a new, exciting event named Rock the Boat MusicFest which will be held in Green Park, and will showcase artists such as Blue Rodeo, Jimmy Rankin, Alan Doyle, Meaghan Blanchard and Gordie MacKeeman and his Rhythm Boys. The concert will take place on Saturday, August 2nd, 2014 and will the afterparty to the Canadian Oyster Shucking Championship.
