History and facts

Sweden Rock Festival begun in 2012 and this year the festival will be celebrating its 20th birthday.

The first festival was held in Olofström and the next five festivals were held in Karlshamn. Since 1998, the festival has been held in its current location Norje, outside Sölvesborg.

Sweden Rock Festival used to only last for two days but today the festival runs for four days.

Noise Volumes:

The noise volumes can get loud the closer you are to a stage, so it's advised to take ear plugs in case you stand near a speaker or close to a stage.

Weather:

The festival is held in the middle of the Swedish summer. So summer clothing is recommended as well as plenty of sun-cream.

However as Sweden is one Europe's most northerly countries, their summers aren't usually as warm as the rest of Europe. So as well as bring summer clothing, it is advised to take warm and waterproof clothing too.

Festival Times:

Sweden Rock Festival 2012 runs from 6th June to 9th June.

The camp site will open from 12pm 5th June and close on the 10th June at 12pm.

Smoking:

There is no smoking inside the venues, however smoking is allowed in any outdoor area.

Cash Machines:

There are cash points located around the festival. It is very likely that these cash points will charge so it's advised that you bring enough cash into the festival and it would save you queuing and missing out any of the acts.

Merchandise & Programmes:

There are a number of stalls located around the festival site selling Sweden Rock Festival and act's merchandise and programmes.

Bringing Your Own Alcohol:

Revellers are allowed to bring their own alcohol into the camping area. However no glass bottles are allowed and no alcohol can be taken into the main festival arena.

General bins and Recycling bins:

There are plenty of general and recycling bins located around the festival site.

Toilets:

Toilets are situated in various locations around the festival site.

Food and drink

There a numerous food stalls and bars around the festival site offering a range of cuisines and a variety of alcoholic and soft drinks.

Drugs at the festival

Drugs are strictly prohibited from the festival. Anyone found with or using illegal drugs will be removed from the event and will be prosecuted.

However drugs us does go on at festivals so if you do wish to use any drugs, make sure you know what you're taking, not to over do it and that you're in total control of your actions/behaviour.

There will be a medic tent outside the festival area. The Red Cross will have people available 24 hours at the festival area.

Camping and other accommodation

There are a number of camp sites located at Sweden Rock Festival. Each camp site has its own booking price depending on its location and facilities:

The camping sites have different zones which are divided by fire breaks. Tents are not permitted in the fire breaks and will be removed.

Sweden Rock Festival is held at Norje, Solvesborg, Sweden.

By Car

Festival goers can drive to Sweden Rock Festival from neighbouring countries such as Denmark and Norway. Solvesborg is easily accessible from major cities such as Copenhagen and Gothenburg.

By Train

There are railway links to Sweden from around Europe.

By Plane

Chartered flights run regularly to Sweden. EasyJet, Ryanair and SAS are some of the airlines that fly to Sweden.

From Stockholm there are transfers to Solvesborg airport.
