Hard Rock Calling Festival

Hard Rock Calling has become the latest casualty of the music festival scene and has been axed for 2014.

Hard Rock Calling – first established in 2006 – had been staged in London’s Hyde Park but after promoters lost the contract for the area, it was moved this summer to the Olympic Park in east London.

Its scrapping comes after Leicester’s Summer Sundae and Kent’s Hop Farm Festival were also dropped in recent months.

This year’s line-up included headline performances by Springsteen and Kasabian.

A statement from organisers read: ‘Hard Rock International today announced that it will not stage its iconic open-air festival Hard Rock Calling in London in 2014.

‘The brand has been privileged and honoured to host this world-class event in London – both at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Hyde Park for the last eight years.
