Midwest Young Artists’ Chicago Flute Workshop offers intensive musical training on flute while building confidence both musically and personally. Students will perform daily, focusing on good fundamentals, and learn to play musically within a chamber group. This workshop provides an opportunity for students to experience the training that it takes to become a professional flutist.
MYA offers Evening Orchestras as a fun, high quality orchestral experience with fellow young musicians throughout the Chicago area. It's a great way for students to keep up their musical studies throughout the summer, and it's perfect for students who are too busy during the day for a full-time summer music camp; you can work or go to summer school and still learn great repertoire and prepare to perform!
Midwest Young Artists’ Young Musicians Chamber Music Workshop is designed to be a one week, intensive experience for the advanced young chamber musician. Enrollment for the workshop is limited, allowing for in-depth and direct instruction from dedicated faculty. Midwest Young Artists' nationally recognized Chicago Chamber Music Workshop offers students an unparalleled musical experience in a fun and supportive environment. An outstanding faculty, nurturing staff, and beautiful setting will inspire students to explore new ideas, discover new talents, and learn skills that will stay with them forever.
Midwest Young Artists offers Evening Jazz Ensembles as a fun, high quality jazz experience with fellow young musicians throughout the Chicago area. The program is a great way for students to keep up their jazz studies throughout the summer, and it's perfect for students who are too busy during the day for a full-time summer music camp; you can work or go to summer school and still learn great repertoire and prepare to play concerts at various well-known venues! Midwest Young Artists’ Chicago Jazz Workshop is designed with the aspiring creative jazz musician in mind. Students are placed in jazz combos of five to eight students, where the focus is ensemble interaction, accompaniment, and improvisation through the study of jazz standards. The ultimate goal of the workshop is to help students gain a better understanding of how to control and manipulate their musical environment.
